An operational dashboard that helps hotel shift managers stay in control clear, structured, and efficient

ONit is an operational dashboard that helps hotel shift managers track tasks, incidents, and department status in real time.
The system focuses on clarity, speed, and control, allowing managers to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently

This project was created as part of my graphic design studies at Studio 6B

Problems

  • Shift managers need to monitor multiple departments at once (cleaning, kitchen, pool, spa, etc.).

  • Information is scattered across different channels and systems.

  • There’s no single place to view real-time updates.

  • Critical issues can get lost or delayed, creating stress and errors.

  • The interface must remain clear even when the workload is high

Goals

  • Create one central dashboard to track all departments.

  • Provide real-time visibility of status, tasks, and incidents.

  • Reduce cognitive load with clear visual hierarchy and alerts.

  • Enable fast and confident decision-making.

  • Keep the interface calm and easy to scan, even under pressure

Shift Manager

Urban Oasis Hotel

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hotel operations across multiple departments (cleaning, kitchen, spa, pool).

  • Respond to issues and guest requests in real time.

  • Coordinate between teams during peak hours.

Needs & Goals

  • Clear overview of all departments in one place.

  • Fast access to incidents and open tasks.

  • Simple communication tools for quick coordination.

  • Low cognitive load during stressful shifts

Pain Points

  • Information scattered across different systems.

  • Overload of alerts without clear prioritization.

  • Wasted time searching for updates or responsible staff.

Information Architecture

The ONit system is built around one central Dashboard that gives the shift manager a real-time overview of the entire hotel.
From this screen, the user can quickly access key operational areas: tasks, incidents, and event management, without unnecessary navigation.

Main structure

Dashboard

Realtime view of occupancy, staff status, facility status, and daily updates.

Incidents

A clear list of open issues and their details, with options to assign, edit, and track.

Event Management

A calendar based overview of hotel events, including specific event details and coordination tools.

Wireframes

Early wireframes, originally designed in Hebrew, helped shape the system’s structure and main interactions. The goal was to simplify complex operational information and give shift managers a clear, calm overview of their workday

Have a quick look at the prototype

This project strengthened my skills in designing complex systems with a focus on clarityefficiency, and reducing cognitive load for users under pressure.
